Webinar: Blue Value Chains

The exact time and speakers for the webinar will be shared shortly!

Overview The Blue Value Chain is a complex ecosystem driving Europe's transition toward a circular bioeconomy. This webinar explores the critical journey from offshore production to industrial scale-up, featuring projects tackling distinct challenges in the sector.

Key Projects

  • OLAMUR: Demonstrates the integration of low-trophic biomass (seaweed and bivalves) with offshore wind infrastructure in the North and Baltic Seas, sharing real-world insights on challenges and sustainable production.

  • LOCALITY: Establishes circular algae-based ecosystems across the Baltic and North Sea regions by converting algae into sustainable feed, alternative proteins, and textile products. This integrated model demonstrates how algae cultivation can bridge industrial waste management with the growing demand for bio-based solutions in the European blue bioeconomy

  • BaMS B3: Addresses the "scaling gap" in Schleswig-Holstein. Currently in a one-year concept phase, this project seeks an operating partnership to co-design a modular pilot facility, ensuring future infrastructure meets the specific needs of local innovators.

Objective: Our goal is to map the complexities of the Blue Value Chain and highlight how these initiatives collectively work to create innovative solutions to develop the blue bioeconomy and achieve the EU’s bioeconomy and sustainability goals. We aim to foster dialogue on overcoming regulatory, technical, and financial barriers to accelerate the European blue bioeconomy.
