Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg

Working groups from different disciplines conduct research and teach together at the Univ. of Oldenburg with one goal: to develop approaches to the bioeconomy in a sustainable manner and to implement them together with society. The starting point is the investigation of renewable bio raw materials from ecosystems in the sea and on land both when using bio resources from agriculture, natural aquatic systems and cultivation systems. Technological developments focus on carbonization processes for diverse application spectra of a bio-based industry. A major focus is on strengthening the circular marine-related bioeconomy. The work is part of regional efforts for sustainable development. Product innovations are designed together with supply chain and value network partners and evaluated in economic as well as socio-ecological processes before market introduction. Cooperation with European partners is broadly based.
