Aquaculture of mussels and algae in the Baltic Sea

The Innovation Space for Bioeconomy at Marine Sites (BaMS) invites you to a workshop on the sidelines of the BaMS Symposium 2022. The workshop will take place at the Störtebecker Brauquartier in Stralsund.

Background

The aquaculture of mussels and algae provides valuable food and marketable products for the bio-based economy. It also supports the self-cleaning of waters and increases biodiversity. These forms of aquaculture therefore seem to be an ideal approach, particularly for the Baltic Sea coastal waters of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein, to provide coastal fisheries with an additional source of income.
